P. Ochraceocentrata, commonly known as Natal Super Strain, is an exotic species originally found in the Natal region of South Africa. When initially discovered and cultivated, the new species was mistakenly categorized as a similar species (P. Natalensis). The name was later corrected and changed to P. Ochraceocentrata, though the Natal Super Strain strain designation is still used to identify them in the mushroom market. Genetically, it is very similar to the cubensis species. They look very similar, though there are distinct differences between them due to their alkaloid profiles.

Ochraceocentrata mushrooms are more potent than cubensis mushrooms, as they are often reported to be 1.5 - 2x stronger than traditional mushrooms on average. They are associated with strong visuals, an ultra-smooth transition into the altered state, and experiences that are blissful and euphoric. Compared to cubensis mushrooms, they produce less of the body load that can often accompany early phases of a journey. Many users report that Natal Super Strain mushrooms lack the darker edge that can sometimes be seen and felt on cubensis journeys, which will likely make them a popular choice for beginner and advanced psychonauts moving forward.

NOTE: See dosing guidelines picture to compare suggested Natal Super Strain vs cubensis experiences by dose. When in doubt, weigh it out.

    Best trip so far

Posted by Dennà on May 31st 2025

Took 3.5g and got spiritually drop-kicked by the universe—in the gentlest, most beautiful way possible. Everything looked like it had just been freshly rendered in HD, my emotions turned into a Pixar movie, and yes, I cried a little (because apparently mushrooms unlock the “weepy but wise” setting). 10/10 would trip again.
